Yumi Saves Kaz is the 1st segment of the 9th episode of Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, and is the 25th episode overall.
Summary[]
Ami and Yumi are set to perform at a donut shop while Kaz has all the free donuts he can eat. During the performance, the sign's supports give out and the sign goes tumbling down towards Kaz. Yumi uses the store's banner to swoop down and save Kaz before the sign crushes him. Kaz is about to help himself to another donut but sees the sign has crushed all the remaining ones, much to his dismay. Ami praises Yumi for saving Kaz's life, and Kaz, seeing that Yumi did in fact save his life, feels it's top priority to be grateful to Yumi and make it up to her in any way possible. Kaz gives Yumi custom made footie pajamas with a pattern of his face on it, buys her a new large amplifier, manually cools down a pizza right before she eats it, gives her extra toothpaste and mouthwash, gives her a back massage and exercise routine in the morning, opens doors for her, and buys her a new TV with different channels featuring him.
By this point, Yumi is fed up with Kaz doing favors for her all time, wishing she hadn't saved his life. Ami suggests having Kaz save her life to get even, but Yumi doesn't see that possibly happening. A crane accidentally drops the donut shop's sign and Yumi gets the idea to have Kaz save her life. Kaz can't budge Yumi and only ends up pulling one of her boots off. The sign falls and misses, but Yumi acts grateful that Kaz "saved" her life. He's confused at first, but realizes she's right. Yumi says that now Kaz doesn't have to help her anymore. Kaz agrees, saying that now Yumi owes HIM, listing the tasks for her, one of them being a donut. Yumi crushes Kaz with the donut shop sign to shut him up.
